Mitutoyo ceramic gauge block set M47 is a 47-piece reference set in ceramic that meets ISO 3650 — the international standard defining what a gauge block actually is, including the flatness, parallelism, and length tolerances that distinguish a true reference from a precision-ground spacer. Ceramic (zirconium dioxide) gauge blocks withstand the wear that eventually reaches even the best steel sets — a single moment of poor contact technique on a steel block can leave a mark that ages the set; ceramic surfaces are much more forgiving. Zirconium dioxide is also non-magnetic and corrosion-free, so the set survives proximity to magnetic chucks, coolant, and the daily humidity of the workshop environment.
