Mitutoyo Absolute Digimatic Heavy-Duty Vernier Caliper, 0-200 mm, accuracy ±0.03 mm (Series I, without depth blades) is the heavy-duty digital vernier caliper designed for workshop and large-part inspection where a standard hand caliper lacks sufficient rigidity. Series I features a parallel-jaw configuration without upper-jaw depth blades, providing clean external and internal measurements on flat-surfaced parts, which is the most common application in fabrication and machining.

The Absolute measuring system is the key feature: a rotating capacitive encoder retains the absolute zero position relative to the scale even when the caliper is powered off. A classic incremental caliper requires intentional zeroing at every power cycle — this is the most common source of operator-induced reading errors in workshop use, and Absolute eliminates it entirely. Resolution 0.01 mm, accuracy ±0.03 mm across the entire 0-200 mm range. IP67 sealed against splashing water and coolant — production-floor ready.

The heavy-duty frame is significantly stiffer than that of a corresponding hand caliper to keep the long beam perpendicular under operator load. The Series I frame is supplied with measuring face length A of 60 mm — dimensioned for the size of parts it will be used on. The Digimatic output port allows readings to be transmitted to a Digimatic cable, USB Input Tool, or U-WAVE wireless transmitter.

Common applications: inspection of large machined parts on a drawing board, factory sheet metal cutting dimension control, external dimension measurement of welded assemblies during assembly, machined housing OD verification before machining, and direct input to a Digimatic data logger during routine quality control sampling.
